Becoming
asks for a lifetime
to undo, rewrite, and peel away,
to bandage the broken,
to stand brave,
gazing into the unknown…

In the presence of You
I forget this day and tomorrow.
You speak my name and
I tumble into your Heart…

Walking the trail,
tuned to the murmurs of the trees,
I’m pulled toward the one that knows me best…

At the dawn of creation there was Love
saturating every hum of the vast stillness
even as a blazing burst of light scattered the heavens.
Infant earth was hurled into orbit
and came to rest in lazy circles around the sun.

This very place
with precise coordinates
in time and space,
optimum longitude, breathtaking latitude,
pristine sound, caressing light,
proximity to a congress of angels,
coveted by the smitten moon,
and encircled by the stars,
it was chosen for you.

We wait,
our tired wings ragged and limp.
From the heights of our longing
we have opened.
From the depths of our listening
we are hushed.
A soft voice reminds us.

Each woman is a land unto herself.
Do not expect to know the language spoken there,
or how the laws of the land were written.
Tread gently, taking time to observe, listen, understand.
Take care to not touch her too soon.
This is a sacred province,

Looking ‘round, nothing’s really changed.
Can it be between one breath and another
an entire world’s been rearranged?

Real as they might appear, they hold no place

near and far, long gone and newly born
